Corporate Social Responsibility Projects

2024

The year we expanded our curriculum and participant base significantly, reaching more members of the Akwa Ibom community.

2025

Skills2Thrive Uyo (April 22 to May 31st, 2025) - Our most comprehensive program yet with enhanced practical components and industry partnerships.

The Story of the Skills2Thrive Uyo Project

A journey of vision, empowerment, and transformation

In a time where many are searching for relevance in a rapidly changing world, De Aftermath Consults (HR & IT) launched a mission — not just to train, but to transform. That mission birthed the Skills2Thrive Uyo CSR Project, a 6-week free empowerment programme designed to equip the people of Akwa Ibom with in-demand tech and management skills that open doors to employment, entrepreneurship, and lifelong relevance.

It Started with a Call

It Started with a Call

In March 2025, a call for applications was announced. Within days, applications flooded in — from fresh graduates, job seekers, entrepreneurs, and young professionals across Uyo and beyond. Each application carried a common thread: a hunger for growth and opportunity.

After a careful selection process, a dedicated group of participants was chosen. They became the Skills2Thrive Class of 2025 — pioneers of what would become a defining experience in their personal and professional journeys.

The Opening Ceremony – A Clarion Call to Purpose

The Opening Ceremony – A Clarion Call to Purpose

On April 22, 2025, the Skills2Thrive Uyo project officially launched at a vibrant opening ceremony attended by visionary leaders and purpose-driven changemakers.

The atmosphere was electric — filled with hope, commitment, and the undeniable sense that something remarkable was about to begin.

The Training – Learning, Doing, Becoming

Over the next six intensive weeks, participants immersed themselves in practical, instructor-led sessions across a wide range of professional skill areas:

  • Basic Tech Skills
  • Graphic Design
  • Digital Marketing
  • Data Analysis
  • Academic & Research Writing
  • Data Entry
  • Human Resource Management
  • Project Management
  • Personal Branding & Career Strategy
  • Entrepreneurial Thinking & Innovation
  • CV Writing & Job Readiness
  • Workplace Ethics & Soft Skills
  • Safety Practical – with hands-on exposure to basic occupational health and safety measures, including hazard awareness and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.

Facilitators brought real-world experience into every class, blending theory with hands-on tasks, assignments, and collaborative exercises. Many participants launched personal projects, created portfolios, and developed work-ready resumes for the first time.

The Graduation – From Classroom to Career Path

On Saturday, May 31st, 2025, the Skills2Thrive journey culminated in a beautiful graduation ceremony — a celebration of commitment, growth, and potential unlocked.

Held at De Aftermath Consults, 2nd Floor, ICAN Building, Beside the Post Office, Directly Facing Aka Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, the event welcomed:

Guest of Honour:

Pst. Dr. Dara Atang

Lead Pastor of God's House of Refuge, who delivered a heartfelt charge on staying anchored to purpose.

Guest Lecturer:

Lucy Ekpenyong

State Manager, SMEDAN – who shared practical insights on building sustainable careers.

Distinguished Guest:

Engr. Unyime Udota

CEO of Smile Home Nigeria – who spoke on resilience and innovation in business.

Participants received certificates, special recognitions, and for many — renewed hope and clarity for the future.

What We Learned

The Skills2Thrive Uyo project reminded us that talent exists everywhere, but opportunity must be created intentionally.

It showed that with the right environment, people will rise. They will learn. They will build. And they will thrive.

At De Aftermath Consults, we believe this is only the beginning. The impact stories are already emerging. Businesses are being launched. New jobs are being pursued. And networks that began in the classroom are becoming partnerships in life.

Thank You

We bet you are missing out
Even if you can’t appear in person
